Three of 15 DeKalb teams open the 2022 GHSA State Tennis Playoffs today as Druid Hills and Chamblee host first round matches this afternoon.

Druid Hills claimed the Region 6-4A runners-up slots in both boys and girls and hit the courts first as the girls host Flowery Branch at 2:00 pm and the boys set to face off with Jefferson with a 3:00 pm start at the DeKalb Tennis Center.

Chamblee’s Lady Bulldogs (12-6-1) were also region runners-up in 5-5A and get to host Cartersville at 4:00 pm.

DeKalb Tennis Center plays host to a pair of Class 6A state playoff matches on Tuesday as eight matches are on tap throughout the day.

Lakeside hosts Richmond Hill in both boys’ and girls’ action at 1:00 pm at the DeKalb Tennis Center to open the state playoffs on Tuesday. The Region 4-6A champion Vikings (13-2) and 4-6A runners-up Lady Vikings (9-6) earned home matches with their play in the region tournament.

Both Tucker teams go on the road to Statesboro on Tuesday for matches at 2:00 pm. The Tigers earned a No. 3 seed in 4-6A, and the Lady Tigers were a No. 4 seed forcing both teams to hit the road in the first round.

The Region 7-7A champion Dunwoody Wildcats open Class 7A state play hosting Woodstock at 4:00 pm at Dunwoody High School.

Other matches on Tuesday include Arabia Mountain at Madison County at 4:00 pm in Class 4A boys’ and girls’ play along with Redan at Cherokee Bluff in Class 3A boys’ action with a time to be determined.

Two matches are on tap on Wednesday as Chamblee Bulldogs (11-8), the Region 5-5A runners-up, host Calhoun in their Class 5A opening round match at Chamblee and the Region 7-7A champion Dunwoody Lady Wildcats (13-4) play host to Cherokee at Dunwoody. Both matches are set for 4:00 pm starts.
