Seven DeKalb baseball teams post undefeated marks in Week 7 of the high school baseball season.

The week before spring break proved to be a strong one for DeKalb County schools. Seven local squads posted perfect records, led by Chamblee (3-0), Dunwoody (3-0) and Lakeside (3-0).

Coach Brian Ely’s Chamblee Bulldogs continued to roll, scoring impressive triumphs over Southwest DeKalb (10-0) March 29, Southwest DeKalb (11-0) March 30 and Martin Luther King Jr. (17-2) April 2 by the cumulative margin of 38-2 in improving to 14-6-1 overall.

Coach Chan English’s Dunwoody Wildcats were just as strong, roaring to victories over Meadowcreek (24-2) March 29, Archer (7-2) March 31 and Archer (6-5) April 1 by a 37-9 cumulative margin to move to 13-9 overall.

Coach Brian Granger’s Lakeside Vikings stayed near the top of the Region 4-AAAAAA regular season title search while sweeping three straight from Lovejoy by the counts of 12-4 (March 29), 19-5 (March 30) and 9-4 (April 1) in moving to 17-4 overall.

Coach Eric Hoxie’s Arabia Mountain Rams easily defeated Hapeville Charter (15-7) March 29 and Hapeville Charter (16-0) March 30 in going 2-0 to improve to 4-7 overall on the year.

Coach Greg Barnett’s Columbia Eagles took care of Towers (16-1) March 30 and Therrell (13-2) April 1 to improve to 5-4 overall.

Coach Timothy Jones and the Stephenson Jaguars rumbled past Hapeville Charter (15-0) April 2 and Hapeville Charter (24-0) April 2 to the tune of 39-0 in moving to 7-3 overall.

Coach Kyle Smith’s Miller Grove Wolverines picked up their first victory of the year in a 19-14 slugfest with Clarkston March 29, moving to 1-6 overall on the year.

Junior Brandon Cooper took center stage for Clarkston in a 17-1 triumph over Stone Mountain April 1. Cooper went the full three innings as the starting and winning pitcher, striking out six and allowing only one hit, two walks and no earned runs. Offensively, Cooper finished 2-2 with three RBI, two runs scored, two stolen bases and one double. Junior Ethan Meredith (2-2; 3 RS; 2 RBI; 2 SB) and sophomore Angelo Nunn (2-2; 3 RS; 3 RBI; 3 SB) also reached multiple hits in the contest.

Senior Terrance Sales (WP; 1 IP; 3 SO), sophomore Bernard Moon (1 IP; 3 SO; 1 BB) and freshman Jaden Johnson (1 IP; 1 SO; 1 BB) teamed up to strike out seven over three innings in a no-hitter for Redan in a 17-0 blanking of Douglass March 29. Junior Deltric Berry led the Raider offense, 2-2 with three RBI and two runs scored.
