Both the Columbia Eagles and Lady Eagles cruised into tonight’s Region 5-2A championship games with high school basketball semifinal victories at Eagle’s Landing Christian Academy on Thursday night.

The Lady Eagles (21-5) rolled past Landmark Christian (15-6) 75-15 to reach the championship game against Callaway (23-3). Columbia  had three players in double figures including Kendall Campbell (24), Aalon Turner (19) and Keamaura Robinson (17).

Callaway reached by knocking off the McNair Lady Mustangs (14-13) 62-25. The two teams, who split their regular season games, face off at 7:00 pm tonight.

McNair faces Landmark Christian in the girls’ third-place game at 4:00 pm this afternoon at Eagle’s Landing Christian.

In the boys’ game, the Eagles (23-2) jumped out to a 55-15 lead on the way to defeating the Towers Titans (15-11) 92-57 in their semifinal meeting. Trevian Callaway scored 30 points in the win for Columbia.

Columbia takes on Callaway (13-13) who upset Eagle’s Landing Christian 65-59 last night in the 8:30 pm game tonight. Columbia swept Callaway by over 20 points in both regular season games.

Towers meets Eagle’s Landing Christian in the boys’ third-place game at 5:30 pm.

In the Region 4-6A girls’ semifinal, the Lakeside Lady Vikings (17-7) dropped a heartbreaking 45-44 decision to the St. Pius Lady Golden Lions (15-12). Lakeside moves to the third-place game against host Riverwood (13-12) at 4:00 pm this afternoon.

The Southwest DeKalb Panthers and Lady Panthers and the Stephenson Lady Jaguars are playing for home court in the first round of the state playoffs as they play in Region 6-4A semifinal games tonight at Holy Innocents’ Episcopal.

The Lady Panthers (20-6) meet the Westminster Lady Wildcats (18-6) in the first girls’ semifinal game at 4:00 pm this afternoon. The Panthers (11-14) face off with host Holy Innocent’s (19-6) at 8:30 pm.

Stephenson (14-10) plays in the 7:00 pm girls’ semifinal against host Holy Innocent’s (20-6).
