Four teams finished the season undefeated and the Trail to the Title playoffs for the first round are set for Saturday at Avondale Stadium. First game is set for 9:00 am.

The final regular season games wrapped up this past Saturday with four teams undefeated including defending champion Stephenson as the eight playoff qualifiers are set for this weekend.

Stephenson (6-0, 4-0) ran its undefeated streak to 15-0 last weekend with a 48-0 win over the Stone Mountain Pirates (0-6, 0-4) in a Region 3 game to wrap up the region No. 1 playoff spot.

Gavin Kinchen led the Jaguars with three touchdowns and 170 yards rushing on four carries and a punt return for a touchdown. He also had an interception on defense. Other scores for Stephenson came on rushing touchdowns by both Wayne Jenkins and Kristian Folks and a kickoff return by Noah Mahoney.

The Jaguars defense put together a third consecutive shutout in the win led by Carlos Wilson with 3 tackles (2 sacks). Leland Walker added an interception and a fumble recovery. The defense picked up five turnovers including fumble recoveries by Calvin McCutcheon and Justice West.

Stephenson opens the defense of its 2022 Trail to the Title championship in a 9:00 am game against the Region 2 runners-up Lithonia Bulldogs (4-2) at Avondale Stadium. The Bulldogs dropped their final regular season contest in a heartbreaking 14-12 loss to the Champion Chargers. It will be a rematch of last season’s Trail to the Title semifinal matchup won 28-0 by Stephenson.

Lithonia rallied from a 14-0 third-quarter deficit on a 77-yard touchdown pass from Orlando Myco to Kameron Alexander to make it 14-6. The Bulldogs then blocked a punt that set up a two-yard touchdown run by Thaddeus Coleman to pull within 14-12. The two-point conversion was nullified by an illegal forward pass.

Champion 14, Lithonia 12
The Champion Chargers picked up a sixth playoff appearance as they held off the Lithonia Bulldogs for a 14-12 non-region victory on Saturday at Hallford Stadium.

Rokhye Colter’s touchdown run with 7:50 left in the second quarter gave the Chargers the lead at 8-0 at the half. Champion upped the lead to 14-0 in the third quarter on Kaejohn Fitzgerald’s touchdown run. Lithonia pulled within 14-12 and with the two-point conversion nullified by a penalty the Chargers ran out the final two minutes of the game.

Champion (5-0-1) takes on Cedar Grove (4-2), a 40-0 winner over Redan on Saturday, in the 12:00 pm game at Avondale Stadium on Saturday.

Cedar Grove picked up its fourth shutout of the season in the win over Redan. Brandon Davis led the way for the Saints has passed for 200 yards and two touchdowns and ran for two more touchdowns. RJ Malcolm and Kevin Edwards were on the receiving end of Davis’s touchdown passes and Brendon Flournoy ran for another score in the win.

Tucker 40, Sequoyah 0
The Tucker Tigers (5-0-1) completed an undefeated season with a complete-game 40-0 win over the Sequoyah Braves (0-6) on Saturday at Adams Stadium.

Maverick Armour had a big day on both sides of the football with two receiving touchdowns, one rushing touchdown and one two-point conversion to go with an interception on defense to lead the Tigers. Quarterback Kruz Marion also had large day as he three the two touchdown passes to Armor, rushed for another touchdown, returned a punt for another score and a two-point conversion. Wide receivers Nyles Finney and Jarek Smith also added a two-point conversion each in the game.

Tucker faces off with the Chapel Hill Panthers (5-1) in the first round of the Trail to the Title playoffs in a rematch of the 2022 semifinals won 6-0 by Chapel Hill.

Chapel Hill is coming off a division runner-up clinching 40-6 win over the Druid Hills Dragons (2-4) at Adams Stadium on Saturday. Tyreese Jones scored a pair of rushing touchdowns and returned a kickoff for a score to lead the Panthers to the win. Quarterback Damarion Davis also scored a rushing touchdown and threw two touchdown passes and a two-point conversion to Marquise Ealey.

McNair 26, Miller Grove 6
The McNair Mustangs finished off the regular season undefeated at 6-0 with a 26-6 non-region win over the Miller Grove Wolverines (2-4) at Hallford Stadium on Saturday.

Rashad Blaylock scored a pair of touchdowns including a pass from Jaylen Alexander and a kick return for another score for the Mustangs. Goni Santana also had a rushing touchdown for the Mustangs and Braylen Whitlock caught a two-point conversion pass from Deontae Daugherty. Defensively, Amari Caldwell had a scoop and score for another touchdown.

McNair takes on Chamblee (3-3) in the first round of the Trail to the Title playoffs at 10:30 am at Avondale Stadium on Saturday. Chamblee dropped its season finale 20-16 to Freedom.

Columbia 30, Bethune 0
The Columbia Eagles (4-2, 2-2) finished third in the Region 4 standings and recorded their first winning season since 2014 with a 30-0 season ending win over the Bethune Lions (0-5-1, 0-4) at Godfrey Stadium on Saturday.

Delonte Stephens ran for three touchdowns and Ayden Hiley returned an interception for another score in the win for Columbia. Kamarre Benton added a pair of two-point conversions and Zackarhia Shorter ran in another two-point conversion.

Salem 14, Henderson 8
The Salem Lions (2-4) ended the 2023 season on a good note knocking off the Henderson Cougars (2-4) 14-8 at North DeKalb Stadium on Saturday.
