Redan, Tucker and Southwest DeKalb topped an impressive group of five DeKalb County schools that posted perfect records last week.

Coach Alexander Wyche’s Raiders went 6-0 with a pair of Region 5-3A sweeps during Week 6 of the DeKalb County baseball season. The Raiders stormed past Salem (15-0) March 21, Salem (15-0) March 21, Pace Academy (7-6) March 22, Newton County (7-2) March 24, Cedar Grove (15-0) March 25 and Cedar Grove (15-0) March 25 in outscoring their opponents by the cumulative margin of 74-8 in improving to 15-1 overall and 6-0 in Region 5-3A.

Tucker was right behind at 4-0, as coach Bobby Link’s Tigers whipped Langston Hughes (16-4) March 21, Langston Hughes (19-3) March 25, Lovejoy (11-1) March 26 and Lovejoy (20-4) March 26 to the tune of 66-12 in moving to 12-3 overall and 6-0 in Region 4-6A.

Coach Tyrus Taylor’s Southwest DeKalb Panthers also went 4-0, knocking off Lithonia (15-0) March 21, Northview (10-8) March 23, Chamblee (3-2) March 25 and Lithonia (16-1) March 26 to improve to 8-7 overall and 4-3 in Region 5-5A.
