The DeKalb Silver Streaks moved to 2-0 on the season as they went on the road to Lagrange and came home with a 16-7 victory over the West Georgia Wolverines in the American Association of Adapted Sports Programs (AAASP) handball action.

Three different players scored for the Silver Streaks led by Najee Smothers (Grayson) with 10, Cameron Smothers (Grayson) with four and Robert Edward (Towers H.S.) contributed with two more.

Defense was again tough playing on the road for the second consecutive game as the group of King James McMurry (Stone Mountain H.S.), Joe Patterson (Laurel Ridge Elementary), Jamell Boston (Cedar Grove M.S.), Will Jones (Druid Hills M. S.), Nusarai Quarels (Druid Hills H.S.) and Justice Smith (Academy for the Blind) helped keep the Wolverines from matching the offensive prowess of the Silver Streaks.

All the teams take a bye week this weekend and DeKalb returns to action on Saturday, October 21 traveling to Houston County for a double-header against the hometown Sharks and another meeting with West Georgia. Game times are set for 11:00 am against the Sharks and 1:00 pm against the Wolverines.

The Silver Streaks host a double-header on Saturday, October 28 against the Clayton Eagles with the opener set for 11:00 am with the nightcap set for 1:00 pm.
