McNair junior quarterback Jeremy Victor became just the second Mustang to surpass 2,000 yards passing and 1,000 yards rushing in a career as he led the Mustangs to a 50-14 Region 5-2A road win over Landmark Christian on Friday night.

Victor accounted for four touchdowns as he hit on five of eight passing for 169 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for over 100 yards and two more scores on the ground. The totals pushed him into rare company with former McNair great Maurice Avery (4,453 yards passing, 1,350 rushing from 1999 to 2001. He also became just the 16th DeKalb County player to accomplish the feat.

He connected with Keyontae Phillips on a pass and catch play for 65 yards and Lou Stodghill for 60 yards on another. Sedarian Williams had touchdown funs of 80 and 14 yards to go with a one-yard run by Maurice Belcher for another score.

Defensively, Emmanuel Clark had 12 total tackles, two for a loss, and Justin Jones had an interception to lead the Mustangs.

McNair improved to 3-3 overall and 1-1 in Region 5-2A to get back into the playoff picture after dropping the region opening game to Columbia a week ago. McNair plays host to Towers (0-5, 0-1) in a Region 5-2A rivalry at 7:00 pm at Godfrey Stadium.

Tucker 48, Decatur 39
The Tucker Tigers (3-3, 1-0) jumped into a first-place tie with Chamblee (3-3) and Arabia Mountain (5-1) with a big 49-38 Region 4-5A homecoming victory over the Decatur Bulldogs (2-4, 0-1) at Adams Stadium on Friday night.

Jordan McCoy keyed the win rushing for 337 yards on 33 carries and getting into the end zone five times in the win. He now has 2,054 yards rushing and 29 touchdowns in just 12 games for the Tigers.

Quarterback Jamar Graham hit on 7 of 15 passes for 167 yards and two touchdowns to add to the Tucker offensive attack. Graham had a 60-yard vertical pass to Christian Whitmore (2 receptions, 88 yards) and connected with Eli Ffrench three times for 64 yards and a touchdown. Graham has thrown for 3,323 yards (398-217-10) and 33 touchdowns in his career.

Tucker has a big Region 4-5A showdown with Chamblee (3-3, 1-0), a 35-28 double-overtime winner over Martin Luther King Jr., this weekend. The game is set for Friday at 7:30 pm at Adams Stadium.

Miller Grove 34, SW DeKalb 12
The Miller Grove Wolverines (5-1, 1-0) jumped out to a 21-0 lead on the way to a 34-12 homecoming win over the Southwest DeKalb Panthers (2-4, 0-1) at Hallford Stadium on Friday night.

Amonte Harden scored two touchdowns and Ta’Jon Corbitt another as the Wolverines jumped out in front quickly in the first half against the Panthers. Southwest DeKalb got on the board with a touchdown scramble by Brishaun Reese to close the gap to 21-6 at the half.

Corbitt found the end zone twice in the third quarter to expand Miller Grove’s lead to 34-6 late in the third quarter. Brandon Gunn found the end zone in the fourth quarter for the Panthers to make the final of 34-12.

Miller Grove hosts former No. 5 ranked Holy Innocent’s (5-1, 0-1) which dropped a 9-3 decision to Westminster last Friday. The game is set for a 7:30 pm kickoff at North DeKalb Stadium.

Redan 41, Towers 16
Jamir Brown scored six touchdowns and had 10 tackles (2 for loss) to lead the Redan Raiders (2-4, 1-1) to a 41-16 win over the Towers Titans (0-5, 0-1) at Avondale Stadium on Friday night.

Brown carries the ball 24 times for 243 yards and the six touchdowns for the Raiders. Jarvis Lamar caused and recovered a fumble to go with his nine tackles and two sacks.
