“Buck” Godfrey Stadium plays host to three games this week including a Thursday Night Lights game and a Friday doubleheader, one of four on Friday in DeKalb Stadiums.

A neighborhood rivalry opens the week on Thursday night at Godfrey as Lithonia (2-6) entertains Arabia Mountain (3-6). The game features two of the top running backs in DeKalb in Lithonia’s Delano Jean-Jacques (714 yards, 6 TDs) and Arabia Mountain’s Solomon Rayton who is hovering around 800 yards and 8 TDs on the year.

Stephenson (5-3, 1-3) travels to Banneker in another Thursday night game to take on Hapeville Charter (3-5) with a Region 6-4A playoff spot on the line after losing three consecutive games after a 5-0 start.

Godfrey is hosting a pair of region tilts in its Friday doubleheader. The Towers Titans (2-6) entertain Region 6-2A foe Therrell (1-7) in the 5:15 pm opener. Towers features one of the most productive quarterback/receiver duos in quarterback Isaiah Logan (1,347 yards passing, 9 TDs) and receiver Keshawn Weathers (49 receptions, 732 yards, 4 TDs).

The nightcap has the No. 1 ranked Cedar Grove Saints (6-2) hosting Douglass (1-7) in a Region 5-3A clash with the Saints looking to go 6-0 in region play. The Saints are led by 1,000-yard rusher Rashod Dubinion (1,009 yards, 14 TDs) on offense and All-State player Christian Miller (3 tackles for a loss of 18 yards vs. Westminster) on defense.

Adams Stadium hosts a pair of games including the opener that has Region 5-5A foes Stone Mountain (4-5) and St. Pius (6-2) meeting at 5:15. Tucker (2-6) hosts No. 3 ranked Langston Hughes (7-1) in a Region 4-6A clash at 8:00 pm.

Two more region matchups are set for Avondale Stadium as M.L. King (1-7) hosts Northview (2-6) in a Region 5-5A battle at 5:15 pm. McNair (0-7) follows at 8:00 pm taking on Lovett (6-3) in a Region 6-2A collision.

North DeKalb Stadium also has a doubleheader on Friday as Redan (2-6) takes on No. 8 ranked Sandy Creek (7-1) which just lost its first game of the season last week in the 5:15 pm opener. A non-region matchup follows at 8:00 pm as Chamblee (7-1) plays host to Lakeside (2-6) in the nightcap at 8:00 pm.

Hallford Stadium has upset minded Miller Grove (6-1) entertaining No. 2 ranked Marist (6-1) in a single game set for a 7:30 pm kickoff on Friday.

Away games on Friday have Dunwoody (2-6) at Region 7-7A foe Discovery (2-6) at 7:30 and Southwest DeKalb (4-4) traveling up the road to Decatur (8-0) to take on the Region 5-5A frontrunner Bulldogs at 7:30.
