The Class 4A No. 7 ranked Arabia Mountain Lady Rams kickoff state playoff action for the 14 DeKalb playoff entries by hosting Heritage-Catoosa on Tuesday at 5:30 pm.

Arabia Mountain is one of eight girls’ teams headed to the state playoffs joining six boys’ squads who qualified for the “March to Macon” for the state championship round.

Heritage (17-8) comes in as the No. 3 seed from Region 7-4A while Arabia Mountain earned (14-2) a home game by finishing as the No. 2 seed in Region 6-4A.

Other Class 4A girls’ games include Druid Hills (11-14), the Region 6-4A No. 3 seed, heading to Northwest Whitfield (13-10), the 7-4A No. 2 seed, and 6-4A No. 4 seeded Stephenson (5-13) traveling to 7-4A No. 1 seed Pickens (20-4). Both games are set for 6:00 pm starts.

The No. 4 ranked and 5-5A No. 1 seed Southwest DeKalb Lady Panthers (18-6) open the Class 5A state playoffs hosting Region 8-5A No. 4 seed Walnut Grove (14-12) at 6:00 pm. In other Class 5A girls play the Martin Luther King Jr. Lady Lions (16-5) go on the road as the 5-5A No. 3 seed to face 8-5A No. 2 seed Greenbrier (21-3) at 6:00 pm.

The final girl’s game on Tuesday has Region 5-3A No. 4 seed Redan (10-8) travels to North Georgia to face the Region 8-3A champion and No. 9 ranked Stephens County (16-7).

The only boys’ game on Tuesday involves a Top 10 battle as the Class 2A No. 4 ranked Columbia Eagles (17-6), the 6-2A No. 3 seed, travel to Somerville to take on No. 10 ranked Chattooga (17-3), the 7-2A No. 2 seed.

Wednesday features four home games for DeKalb teams including the Class 5A No. 6 ranked Lithonia Bulldogs (16-3), the No. 2 seed), hosting 7-5A No. 3 seeded Greenbrier (16-10) set for a 6:00 pm tip.

The Columbia Lady Eagles (15-7) are the only girls’ team hosting as the Region 6-2A champs host the Region 8-2A No. 4 seeded Gordon Central (8-12) at 6:00 pm.

The two other boys’ teams hosting are in Class 4A including No. 3 ranked Miller Grove (14-4) and No. 8 ranked Stephenson (10-5) with 6:00 pm games. Miller Grove, the 6-4A No. 1 seed, hosts 7-4A No. 4 seed Central-Carrollton (18-10) and Stephenson takes on No. 3 seeded Pickens (14-12).

In Class 5A boys first round action Martin Luther King Jr. (11-9), the 5-5A No. 4 seed, goes to Athens to take on 8-5A No. 1 seed and No. 8 ranked Clarke Central (18-6) at 7:00 pm.

A Class 6A girls’ game is set at Lee County featuring the Lakeside Lady Vikings (10-9), the No. 4 seed from 4-6A, Lee County (10-10), the 1-6A No. 1 seed, hosts Lakeside at 6:00 pm.

The 1-6A runners-up Valdosta Wildcats (19-5) host the Tucker Tigers (14-6) at 6:00 pm in a Class 6A boys first round playoff matchup.
