98% of Certified Staff Sign Contracts; Retention and Recruitment Incentives Credited

(STONE MOUNTAIN, GA) – The DeKalb County School District (DCSD) proudly announces that 98% of its certified staff, including 96.5% of teachers, have signed contracts to return for the 2024-2025 school year. This achievement highlights the district’s dedication to its educators through competitive compensation and retention perks, reinforcing the strong bond between the District and its committed certified staff.

The return rates also include an impressive:

  • 98.7% of Assistant Principals
  • 98% of Counselors, School Psychologists, and Social Workers
  • 99% of Media Specialists

DCSD continues to hire employees for all available positions. To date, ongoing strategic recruitment efforts have produced 1,015 new teachers this year, alongside processing over 2,807 employees in new or existing roles.
