Design & Construction

The Design & Construction Department of the Operations Division builds and updates all District schools and educational facilities. We set the bar high, expect and demand excellence from internal staff and external service providers, and take great pride in designing and creating innovative, technology-rich, student-centric environments wherein the children of DeKalb County School District can both learn and thrive.

Our dedicated team establishes facility design guidelines and educational specifications, and provides both comprehensive project management and vigilant fiscal oversight for all projects within the Capital Improvements Program (CIP) – including E-SPLOST* projects.

Deeply committed to an open dialog with our communities, we proactively maintain multiple channels of communication including Construction Advisory Committees (CACs), community input sessions, and the numerous resources available on this site.
