Extended School Year (ESY) Program: June 3-27, 2019
Extended school year (ESY) refers to special education and/or related services provided beyond the normal school year of a public agency for the purpose of providing a free, appropriate public education (FAPE) to a student with a disability in accordance with the child’s Individualized Education Plan (IEP) at no cost to the family.
Pre-planning for school-based programs will occur on Friday, May 31, 2019 from 8:30 – 11:30 at the assigned location for school-based program except for the middle/high school social skills program which will meet on Friday, May 31, 2019 from 1:00 – 3:00 at East DeKalb Campus in the Director’s Conference Room. The work day for staff at school-based programs will be from 8:00 – 12:00 on the days of the program. Preplanning for the elementary tutorial program will occur on Friday, May 31, 2019 from 1:00 – 3:00 at East DeKalb Campus in the Large Conference Room. Tutors will be assigned cases and allowed to schedule at a mutually agreed upon time and location with parents.
