Khalil Siddeeq, a sophomore at DeKalb Early College Academy (DECA), has been recognized as the winner of the prestigious Booklogix Young Writer’s Contest in the 14-18 age category. His soon-to-be-published scientific-fantasy novel, Rouk: The Child in The Capsul , is an action-packed story about a rogue scientist who discovers a dormant experiment gone terribly wrong.

As a contest winner, Siddeeq will receive a $5,000 publishing contract. This extraordinary platform will give Khalil the necessary boost to fulfill his aspirations of becoming a television screen writer. Siddeeq’s novel will be available late 2017 or early 2018 in both soft cover print and e-book format.
