Overview

The Communications team is responsible for maintaining accurate, effective, two-way communication for the District with internal and external stakeholders.

Goals

  • Build and foster support for DeKalb County Schools among teachers, employees, students, parents, business and faith leaders, community groups and citizens
  • Support individual schools, the Superintendent, and other District divisions
  • Increase awareness of communication channels, including digital and social media platforms
  • Promote Community Engagement, Student Achievement and 21st Century Learning

What We Do

  • Coordinate all media relations including media interviews, radio show appearances, photography and videography requests
  • Produce and promote programming for PDS-TV24
  • Create and distribute all news releases on behalf of the Superintendent and the District
  • Create marketing and visual communication strategies to promote the DCSD brand
  • Coordinate all advertising for the District
  • Assist in the development of all official District publications including marketing collateral, signage and presentations
  • Coordinate and promote special events such as dedication ceremonies, conferences, and television tapings
  • Maintains all social media sites for the District (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube)
  • Coordinate foreign language interpretation and translation
