Your Voice, Our Future!

DeKalb County School District is embarking on a journey to craft our 2024-2029 Strategic Plan, and we are calling on all students, parents, staff, and community members to help shape the vision for our schools and community.

Please scan the QR code in the image below or visit https://bit.ly/3SdUJq3 to take the Strategic Plan Stakeholder Survey.

Together, we are Disrupting for Excellence. Join the conversation, and let's design a future we all believe in.

DCSD invites all community members to take part in one of the most important parts of education: tax-dollar spending.

The public is invited to apply for membership on the E-SPLOST (Education Special-Purpose Local Option Sales Tax) Advisory Committee. Applications can be submitted through Friday, February 16, 2024.

The E-SPLOST Advisory Committee provides citizen input, and review of a voter-approved project list paid for with E-SPLOST revenue. The committee consists of members of the public who share the common goal of maintaining transparency and communication from DCSD to the DeKalb County community.

Candidates must be residents who live in DCSD boundaries. Members may not be DeKalb County Board of Education members, DCSD employees, or have any economic interest in DCSD projects. Experience in accounting, architecture, auditing, construction, engineering, finance, K-12 education, law, planning, project management, and/or real estate is desired.

In addition, candidates must be able to provide two hours to attend monthly meetings. These meetings typically take place in the evening. If selected, members must also pass a background check and sign a non-disclosure agreement.

Applying online for this great opportunity to work behind the scenes in one of Georgia’s largest school districts is easy! Just click here to submit your information.

We are inviting you to the ACT/SAT School Day Community Input Meetings. Discuss the possibility of all DCSD juniors taking the ACT or SAT free of charge. Check out the flyer and find your regional meeting date. Don't miss out on letting your voice be heard.

Our students are doing wonderful things in our community to bring change to issues that are important to them. Meet Druid Hills High School student Ellis Schroeder, who is doing the work to raise awareness on skin health. To learn more about his work, click here.
Thank you to everyone who signed up to be part of the new DeKalb County Family Empowerment Program, The Fambassador Program. The program allows participants to grow their leadership skills and strengthen and share their own superpowers as parents/caregivers with others. I’m looking forward to seeing the great things our Fambassadors will do for our students. Click here to view more photos from the event.

Parents and guardians are encouraged to download the free Edulog Parent Portal App. The app allows parents and guardians to follow their child’s bus on a real-time map and stay up-to-date with notifications when that bus nears the bus stop, the school, or a custom alert zone. Parents and guardians only receive access by registering with data unique to their child. If you have any questions or concerns regarding the Edulog app, please contact DCSD Transportation at (678) 676-1305. Happy Black History Month! This February, DCSD celebrates the legacy, achievements, and contributions of Black Americans. Join us as we honor their profound impact on our nation's history and culture. Let's learn, celebrate, and grow together.
