SAFE Center Food Distribution

Free meals are available for families through the SAFE Center Food Distribution program at eight locations across the District. Together, we’re supporting our DeKalb students and families, and we’re deeply grateful to our community partners of DCSD for helping stock and sustain our SAFE Centers.

DCSD Students Outperform on ACT

DCSD students outperformed the national and state averages on the ACT, with the District experiencing an overall increase in scores from last year. DCSD students had an average composite score of 22.3, a slight increase from last year’s score of 21.1, and higher than the national (19.4) and state (21.4) average composite scores.

Student Assignment Project

Over the past decade, DCSD has seen a steady decline in student enrollment , a trend not unique to us. Districts across Georgia, metro Atlanta, and the nation are experiencing the same shift, with projections showing the decline will continue over the next 10 years. When we have more schools than students, resources are stretched thin. That means taxpayers carry unnecessary costs, and students miss out on the broader opportunities that come when resources are concentrated.
