Advisory Councils
Interim Superintendent, Dr. Norman C. Sauce III, established several Superintendent Advisory Committees after joining the DeKalb County School District (DCSD). These groups include
-
Parent Advisory
-
Student Advisory
-
Bilingual Parent Advisory
-
Exceptional Education Advisory
-
Staff Advisory
-
Teacher Advisory
Applications open each August, with meetings beginning in September and continuing through the spring of each school year. The Superintendent’s Teacher Advisory Committee is comprised of school-level Teachers of the Year, with new meeting cycles beginning each January.
These committees provide an essential forum for open dialogue, collaboration, and problem-solving. By bringing together a variety of voices and perspectives from across the district, the meetings help inform decision-making, strengthen trust, and ensure that policies and initiatives reflect the needs of students, families, and staff. The feedback gathered directly from these councils influences district priorities and drives improvements that positively impact teaching, learning, and the overall student experience.
