2019 Title III Summer Enrichment Program, Grades 1-12
The purpose of the DeKalb County School District’s 2019 Title III Summer Enrichment Program is to improve student achievement through the development of cognitive academic English language proficiency. The summer program is designed for current 1st through 12th grade English learners at the Entering level, and for 5th and 8th grade English learners at the Emerging level. The program will provide an opportunity to develop the academic language of the content areas with a focus on English Language Arts and Math. English learners will engage in highly interactive, project-based learning. A pre- and post- assessment will be administered to measure student growth. Parents of eligible students must complete, sign, and return a parental notification letter to their child’s ESOL teacher if they wish for their child to attend the program.
