DeKalb County School District seeks parent input on updated Code of Student Conduct

The DeKalb County School District (DCSD) invites all parents, guardians, staff, and community stakeholders to help develop the 2019-2020 Code of Student Conduct ~ Student Rights and Responsibilities and Character Develop Handbook.

From now until Friday, March 29, 2019, DCSD community members can provide input on the DCSD Code of Student Conduct for the 2019-2020 school year.

The DCSD Code of Student Conduct outlines the policies, rules, and regulations involving student governance. The purpose of the Code of Student Conduct is to inform students across all grade levels about the types of behaviors that are acceptable and unacceptable.

Behaviors addressed in the Code of Student Conduct include dress code, behavior, bus information, electronic communication devices, violence against students, terroristic threats, school personnel, and other student responsibilities. Each year, students are taught and tested on the handbook’s contents.

A hardcopy of the current 2018-2019 Code of Student Conduct ~ Student Rights and Responsibilities and Character Development Handbook is available in all DCSD schools. An online version can also be viewed at www.dekalbschoolsga.org/student-relations.

All comments and recommendations may be sent to Dr. Kishia Towns, Director of the Department of Student Relations at Kishia_K_Towns@dekalbschoolsga.org or the Department of Student Relations at 5823 Memorial Drive, Stone Mountain, GA 30083 until March 29, 2019.
