The Georgia Council on Economics Education (GCEE) recently recognized Dunwoody High School teacher Laura Lampron as a 2021 Georgia Economics Teacher of the Year.

The GCEE Economics Teacher of the Year Award is presented to a K-12 teacher who demonstrates excellence in teaching economics and personal finance. Lampron exhibits a passion for economics and the ability to engage students at a high level even during the pandemic. In teaching economics and personal finance, Lampron displays creativity, flexibility, and determination.

“To have my hard work recognized by an organization that has done so much to help me be the best economics teacher that I can be is an incredible feeling,” Lampron said. “An understanding of economics equips students with the tools they need to make the world a more fair, a more just, and a more equal place. I hope that my students continue to practice economic thinking throughout their lives and that all of them at least consider economics as a career.”
