• Incorporate high-efficiency building standards into new construction and major renovations to reduce energy and operational costs.
• Upgrade facilities with energy-efficient lighting, HVAC systems, and building controls to improve indoor comfort and reduce energy use.
• Incorporate sustainability and building performance data into student learning opportunities, allowing facilities to serve as living laboratories.
• Indoor Air Quality: Improve indoor air quality through enhanced ventilation systems, filtration upgrades, and preventative maintenance programs.
• Volatile organic compounds (VOCs): Increase the use of low-VOC paints, adhesives, flooring, cleaning products, and furnishings to create healthier indoor environments for students and staff.

• Building Material Reuse and Recycling: Utilizing recycling vendors for demolition to divert from landfill. Support local industries that repurpose building materials, equipment, and furnishings for building demolitions or renovations.
