Title IX
Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 provides:
"No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance."
The DeKalb County School District ("District") does not discriminate on the basis of sex in its education programs or activities, admissions, employment practices, or operations, as required by Title IX and applicable federal and state law. The District also prohibits discrimination, harassment, and retaliation against students, employees, applicants, and other individuals on the basis of sex (including sex discrimination, sex-based harassment, and sexual harassment), as well as race, color, national origin, religion, age, disability, pregnancy, veteran status, genetic information, or any other characteristic protected by law.
The District is committed to providing educational and workplace environments free from sex discrimination, sex-based harassment, sexual harassment, and retaliation, in accordance with Title IX, applicable federal and state law, and District Board policies. Reports and formal complaints involving Title IX are addressed through the District’s established Title IX procedures.

Each school also has a designated Title IX Coordinator, whose contact information is available on the school’s webpage under the Administration section.
Questions, concerns, reports, or formal complaints may be directed to the school’s Title IX Coordinator or the District Title IX Coordinator. Complaints may be submitted in person, by mail, email, or telephone. Support and resources are available whether or not you choose to file a formal complaint.
