Employee Experience

Our Purpose

A diagram illustrates the employee life cycle with six stages, each featuring a circular image of a woman in a professional setting, set against a light blue and cream background.

Employee Experience partners with schools and departments to create positive workplace experiences that help employees feel prepared, supported, connected, and equipped to succeed. By strengthening the employee journey, we help build a workplace where employees thrive and students benefit.

In a school district, employee experience extends beyond Human Resources. Every interaction, whether with a supervisor, colleague, school leader, department, or district office, contributes to how employees experience their work. A positive employee experience enables employees to support schools, students, and one another.

What is Employee Experience?

Employee Experience (EEx) is the intentional design and continuous improvement of every interaction employees have with DeKalb County School District throughout their employment, from recruitment and onboarding to professional growth, leadership support, and career transition.

Employee Experience focuses on creating conditions that help employees feel prepared, supported, connected, valued, and equipped to do their best work. It recognizes that every interaction with the organization shapes how employees experience their work.

“Great employee experiences create great workplaces, and great workplaces create better outcomes for students.”
In the foreground, people are shaking hands and collaborating at desks, while the background shows a modern office environment.

From a smooth hiring process and meaningful onboarding to professional learning, supportive leadership, career development, and opportunities to provide feedback, every interaction influences how employees experience work at DCSD.

Our goal is to improve not just memorable moments, but the everyday experiences that help employees feel prepared, supported, connected, and successful.
