The ASPIRE Program is DeKalb County School District's grow-your-own teacher pathway for students interested in becoming educators and returning to serve DeKalb County schools.
ASPIRE supports students from high school through college and into their first teaching role.
ASPIRE is not a scholarship program.
Who Should Apply?
- Graduating seniors from a DCSD high school
- Students planning to enroll in college in the upcoming fall
- Students interested in teacher certification and a career in education
Teaching Areas Supported
- Birth–Kindergarten• CTAE• Elementary
- ELA • ESOL • Math • Science
- Social Studies • Special Education • World Languages
What ASPIRE Provides
- Participation stipend for required summer learning
- Guaranteed teaching opportunity with DCSD upon certification
- Professional learning, mentorship, and cohort support
- Participant Commitment
- Maintain academic progress in college
- Complete annual summer professional learning
- Teach in DCSD for at least three years after program completion
