DeKalb Schools Educational Foundation Microgrants Program
Overview:
Through the generosity of our partners, the Foundation created the Microgrants program to fund innovative, school-based programs that are not in the school budget. Microgrants provide applicants with a funding opportunity to support innovative approaches or instructional materials beyond the normal classroom experience.
Microgrants typically range from $1,500 to $2,500; however, requests of up to $5,000 may be considered based on project scope, anticipated impact, and available funding.
Award amounts are based on the project's proposed outcomes, metrics for success, and detailed budget. The grantmaking committee reviews applications to determine the impact and value of each project in relation to at least one of the focus areas: Strengthening Literacy, Empowering Educators, and Supporting Wellness.
Applications are due Friday, September 25.
Who can apply:
Any DeKalb County school-based staff member currently employed by the District, including: individual teachers, teacher teams, school leadership (principal or assistant principal), or a school department. While collaborative projects are encouraged, each application should identify one primary point of contact. Priority will be given to educators who have not previously received funding through the Foundation's Microgrant Program. The Foundation will review and consider funding multiple applications from a school.
Thank you for your interest, and we look forward to an application from your school! If you have questions or need additional information, please email the Foundation at dcsdfoundation@dekalbschoolsga.org.
