Assessment Administration Framework
- Communication
- Ensure clear and comprehensive communication with district personnel and schools regarding assessment schedules and administration.
- Disseminate student and school results immediately upon receipt from state-contracted vendors.
- Provide parent letter templates to assist schools in effectively communicating results to parents.
- Support and Training
- Ensure assessments are valid, reliable, and fair. This includes piloting items and analyzing data for continuous improvement.
- Establish clear procedures for administering assessments, including scheduling, proctoring, and accommodations for students in special populations.
- Support local schools in administering national, state, and local assessments and interpreting the received data.
- Conduct detailed in-service sessions with school test coordinators prior to all assessment administrations.
- Provide guidance to schools on test security, test accommodations, and the expectations of the Georgia Code of Ethics for Educators regarding student assessments.
- Communicate all information received from the Georgia Department of Education to district and school personnel.
- Provide score report samples, interpretation guides, content descriptions, and other tools to assist schools in using the data.
- Collaboration
- Collaborate with GaDOE, GOSA, and district departments regarding state and national assessments.
- Provide data and guidance to district departments, including curriculum and instruction, student support services, school improvement, planning, and the Superintendent’s office.
- Maintain frequent communication with the Georgia Department of Education, the Governor’s Office of Student Achievement, and the College Board.
- Communicate as needed with all state-contracted test vendors to ensure adequate test material supply and services for the district.
- Provide support to principals and school test coordinators in creating a school-wide assessment plan to ensure the secure and ethical administration of assessments.
- Ensure schools are following all state and district policies and local requirements that address the Georgia Assessment program.
This framework helps ensure that assessments are administered smoothly, results are communicated effectively, and all stakeholders are well-informed throughout the process.
