The Division of Accountability & Research serves as the district’s performance intelligence and continuous improvement hub. We provide the data systems, assessment processes, research, and accountability structures that enable DeKalb County School District to monitor progress, evaluate impact, and strengthen outcomes for every scholar.

Through collaboration with schools, departments, families, and community partners, the division ensures that decisions are guided by accurate information, transparent reporting, and a shared commitment to scholar success. Our work supports instructional planning, program effectiveness, compliance requirements, and districtwide strategic priorities.

Core Functions

  • Data Collection & Analysis – Systematic gathering and interpretation of educational data to inform planning and improvement.
  • Research & Evaluation – Evidence-based studies and program evaluations that guide district decision-making.
  • Assessment Administration – Coordinated management of all district and state assessments to ensure accuracy, security, and efficiency.
  • Federal Program Compliance – Monitoring and support to ensure adherence to federal education requirements and responsible use of funds.
  • Performance Reporting – Transparent communication of district and school performance to support accountability and informed action.

Our Departments

Assessment Administration – Supports districtwide testing coordination, assessment logistics, and reporting.

Federal Programs – Ensures compliance, monitoring, and support for federally funded initiatives.

Research, Data, and Evaluation – Provides data analysis, research studies, evaluation services, and reporting to inform district decision-making.
