Vacant Seat Opportunities
Families may apply for available School Choice seats from June 8 through July 10, 2026.
Only schools, programs, and grade levels with vacant seats will appear in the application. For a complete list of available schools, programs and grade levels click the link below.
Families who participated in the regular School Choice application and lottery may submit up to three (3) additional applications during the Vacant Seat Opportunity. Families who did not previously participate may create an account and apply.

Timeline:
- Application Window: June 8 – July 10, 2026
- Application Processing: June 8 – July 17, 2026
- Vacant Seat Lottery: July 20 – 23, 2026
- Lottery Notifications: July 24, 2026
Requirements:
- Applications must be submitted during the Vacant Seat Opportunity window.
- Students new to DCSD must upload all required documents before July 10, 2026.
Missing or incomplete documentation (i.e. birth certificate, proof of residency, report cards) will result in the application being deemed ineligible.
