A 16-0 run keyed the Chamblee Bulldogs push to pull away from the Kennesaw Mountain Mustangs to a 17-3 Division 2 girls’ lacrosse state playoff win at North DeKalb Stadium on Tuesday night.

Dunwoody Suffers First Area Loss in 14-11 Defeat to Riverwood

The Dunwoody Wildcats fell behind 2-0 early and never led in dropping a 14-11 decision to the Riverwood Raiders in Area 2-2A high school boys’ lacrosse action at Dunwoody on Tuesday night.
Lacrosse enters its third season as a sport in DeKalb County with the number of teams competing on the rise.
The sport joined 14 other competitive athletic activities that fall under directionof the DeKalb County School District Athletics Department in the spring of 2012.
The 2012 season featured teams from Dunwoody (boys and girls) and Druid Hills (boys) competing in varsity competition.
Five new teams joined during the 2013 season as Druid Hills (girls), Martin Luther King Jr. (boys and girls) and Southwest DeKalb (boys and girls) hit the field this spring.
Teams are competing in Class AAAAA-A Area 4 with Decatur, Greenbrier, Lakeside-Evans, Marist, North Atlanta and St. Pius X.
Druid Hills will field both a girls’ and boys’ junior varsity team and Dunwoody is participating in girls’ junior varsity.
Look to see Lakeside, Chamblee, Tucker, Arabia Mountain, Stephenson and Tucker to join in the competition in the near future.
