A Princeton Elementary School counselor’s impact in the school house will be honored by peers, friends and family on Saturday, December 23.

DeKalb County School District (DCSD) counselor Patrice Samm will be honored at the 2017 Educators Awards, presented by Chill Zone Entertainment, for her five years of hard work at Princeton Elementary School.

During that time, Samm has launched such school-wide initiatives as Read Dads Read and Moms on a Mission. Samm is continually instrumental in initiatives relating to Read Across America, facilitating appearances from local leaders and celebrities. Her efforts have resulted in an increase in community, parental, and family involvement at Princeton.

Samm said she prides herself on teaching children to represent themselves well in everything they do. She said her personal goal is to improve the future, her community, and the world at large one child at a time. Samm was chosen to represent DCSD and be honored among educators from throughout the metro Atlanta area. She further represented the district and discussed her awards on V103 and Good Day Atlanta on Dec. 13.

The event will also feature a live performance by neo-soul singer Noel Gourdin. The 2017 Educators Awards will take place at 6 p.m. on Saturday, December 23 at Rendezvous Event Hall (4717 Jonesboro Road, Forest Park, GA).
