DCSD Partners with Local Radio to Reach International Community

DeKalb County School District (DCSD) and Sagal Radio Services are partnering to share important information about DCSD schools and initiatives with members of the local international community.

Beginning in October 2017, DCSD-based programs and news will be available on 1420 AM radio or through the Sagal Radio website. All information will be available in Somali, Bhutanese, Arabic, and Karen. The news will be translated to ensure access for all listeners and readers.

Superintendent/CEO R. Stephen Green recorded the first interview in this partnership in a wide-ranging discussion about new initiatives and pilot programs including dual-language education, and partnerships with community service providers.
