alt-text

We invite you to join us on an exciting journey towards sustainability and community engagement as we introduce electric school buses for DeKalb County students.

On May 1, 2022, the DeKalb County School District (DCSD) was awarded $20,139,250 from the Clean School Bus Grant to acquire and implement 50 electric buses and 50 bi-directional chargers, focusing on supporting underserved students in non-attainment zones. The project officially commenced on April 1, 2024, and is set to conclude by April 1, 2026.

This page is dedicated to keeping you informed and engaged as we progress through this important initiative. Together, we’re paving the way for a cleaner, greener future for our students and community!

Overview

The Electric School Bus Project is a groundbreaking initiative designed to transform our district’s transportation system by transitioning to electric-powered school buses. This project underscores our commitment to sustainability, significantly reducing carbon emissions while providing safer and cleaner transportation options for our students. Join us as we lead the way toward a greener future for our community!

Goals & Vision

The goals of the Electric School Bus Project are centered around enhancing sustainability, promoting student safety, and fostering a cleaner environment for future generations. Our vision is to create a transportation system that not only reduces our carbon footprint but also prioritizes the health and well-being of our students and community. By integrating electric buses into our fleet, we aim to set a standard for environmentally responsible transportation, ensuring that all students, especially those in underserved areas, have access to efficient and eco-friendly travel. Through this initiative, we aspire to inspire other districts to embrace innovative solutions that contribute to our sustainable future.
