The Dunwoody Wildcats go for repeat at 2025 DCSD County Wrestling Championships set for Tucker on Friday and Saturday.

The Dunwoody Wildcats head into this weekend’s DeKalb County Wrestling Championships with a repeat opportunity as teams from across the county compete beginning Friday at Tucker High School.

The competition begins at 4:00 pm on Friday. Wrestle backs continue beginning at 9:00 am on Saturday at Tucker with the championship rounds set for approximately 2:00 pm.

Dunwoody has won four of the past five championships and six overall. All six titles have come since 2016 under Coach Luke McSorely. A repeat this year would put the Wildcats in a tie with Redan for second place with seven titles. Columbia leads with eight.

The Wildcats reclaimed the title 246-175 over Southwest DeKalb who had won in 2023. Marist was third with a score of 174. Dunwoody had 12 Top Five finishes last year including three gold, three silver and three bronze medal winners.

Dunwoody already has the Region 4-5A Team Duals title under their belt this season and went 1-2 at the State Duals.

Stone Mountain, the Region 5-3A Team Duels champ, could provide some stiff competition to the Wildcats this weekend. The Pirates also went 1-2 in the Class 3A State Duals held recently.

Lithonia (Region 5-4A runner-up) and Columbia (Region 5-2A runner-up) both reached the State Duals this year. Lithonia went 1-2 at state while Columbia finished 0-2.
