Arabia Mountain Lady Rams basketball players Myori Pruitt, Sierra Burns and Malaya Jones all tripped the career points meter at 1,000 points during the 2023 regular season.

The trio has combined for 3,203 points, 1,089 rebounds, 961 steals and 934 assists.

They became the second trio in DeKalb girls’ basketball history to hit the 1,000 career points plateau in the same season joining Redan’s Brea Elmore (1544), Destini McClary (1,377) and Jada Byrd (1,349) who accomplished the feat in 2014 also under current Arabia Mountain and then Redan coach Jerry Jackson.

Senior Myori Pruitt has played in 96 games in her four years (not counting region tournament this year) and is at 1,089 points. She is eight rebounds from joining Byrd on the 1,000 points/500 rebounds club for DeKalb that currently has 49 members. If Pruitt gets to that 500-rebound plateau, she will become the first girl to hit the 1,000 points, 500 rebounds, 500 steals and 500 assists level for a career. She is on pace to lead DeKalb County in both steals and assists for the second consecutive season.

Sierra Burns, also a senior, has put up 1,012 career points in 96 games and pulled down 428 rebounds. She and Pruitt have combined to be part of an 83-16 record in their four years on the court. She is closing in on a 400-point season which would be her first.

Junior Malaya Jones has scored over 400 points in two consecutive seasons on the way to 1,102 in just 64 games and will eclipse 500 points in 2023. She has gone over 200 in steals (243) and assists (200) for her career. She has been part of 58 wins and just 11 losses in her career.

The trio looks to lead Arabia Mountain to the Region 4-5A girls’ title tonight at 7:00 pm on their home floor.
