Arabia Mountain girls’ basketball coach Jerry Jackson picked up career win 300 on Saturday with the Lady Rams’ 65-23 road victory over Clarke Central.

Jackson is in his sixth season (2018-2023) at Arabia Mountain where he has gone 109-24. His team is currently 9-1 overall on the season following the win over Clarke Central. His teams at Arabia Mountain are perennial playoff contenders with five consecutive playoff appearances, including advancing to the Sweet 16 three times and the Elite 8 round once.

The longtime DeKalb coaching veteran also spent eight seasons (2010-2017) at Redan High School coaching the Lady Raiders putting together a 191-40 mark.

Jackson’s first team at Redan in 2010 went 31-1 losing the state title game 76-63 to Norcross in the then largest classification (Class 5A). The 31 consecutive wins extended a DeKalb record to 58 wins before the loss.

Four years later he had the Lady Raiders undefeated going into the state championship at 32-0 and finished off the Raiders second undefeated season championship season with a 63-53 Class 4A state title win over Columbus.

He is now 300-65 overall in 14 seasons on the sidelines.
