The Stephenson Middle School Jaguars travel to Atlanta’s Henderson Stadium (formerly Grady Stadium) to take on the Crawford W. Long Tigers in the DeKalb County Schools-Atlanta Public Schools Football Challenge at 11:00 am on Saturday (Nov. 12).

Stephenson earned the right to play in the game by winning the DCSD Trail to the Title Championship last week 38-0 over Chapel Hill to finish the season undefeated at 9-0. It was the Jaguars sixth Trail to the Title championship in eight appearances and their fifth undefeated championship team, both DeKalb records.

Stephenson’s Jordan Christie was named the title game’s MVP after catching five passes for 128 yards and one touchdown. Quarterback Gavin Kinchen finished the day 8 of 10 passing for 171 yards and two touchdowns. Jayden Johnson provided some punishing runs and scored a touchdown to receive the Most Outstanding Offensive Player of the Game award.

Long won the APS title with a 14-0 win over Young Middle School to finish 8-1 on the season and earn a spot in the Challenge. Long feeds South Atlanta High School which is 9-0 heading into the state playoffs this week.

Stephenson feed Stephenson High School (6-3) which hosts Pace Academy (8-2) at Hallford Stadium tonight (Friday) in the first round of the Class 4A state playoffs.
