Southwest DeKalb and Redan meet for the 37th time on the gridiron on Friday night at 7:30 at Hallford Stadium as two of only 10 DeKalb teams in action this weekend.

Southwest DeKalb (1-3) leads the series 34-2 against the Raiders (1-2). The last meeting was in 2019 with the Panthers winning 46-6.

The Panthers are led by running back Billy Johnson who recently set a school record of 322 yards rushing in a single game. It also put him sixth on the DeKalb all-time single game list. Receiver Armond Davis is also a big threat with three touchdown receptions on the year.

Redan is led by all-around athlete Xavian Green who has rushed for 150 yards (2 TDs), 180 yards receiving (9 catches, 1 TD) and 204 yards passing and a pair of touchdowns. He also has one punt return for a touchdown.

Other home games on Friday include Cross Keys (0-3) hosting Heritage School (3-0) at 7:30 at Adams Stadium, Clarkston (1-2) entertaining Osborne (3-0) at Avondale Stadium at 7:30 and Chamblee (2-1) looking to bounce back from its first loss of the season hosting Riverwood (0-3) in a 7:30 game at North DeKalb Stadium.

Four teams go on the road this weekend including the Class 3A No. 1 ranked Cedar Grove Saints (3-0) heading to Hoschton to take on Class 7A No. 4 ranked Mill Creek (4-0) at 7:30. It is the second of three consecutive road games at Class 7A opponents for the Saints.

Dunwoody (2-1) travels to Northview (1-2) looking for its third win of the season in another 7:30 pm contest. Quarterback Porter LeDoyen has back-to-back games accounting for over 300 yards offense and 3 TDs per game.

Miller Grove tries to climb back over .500 on the season with a trip to Class 7A undefeated Central Gwinnett (4-0) in Lawrenceville on Friday at 7:30.

A third DeKalb team goes on the road against a Class 7A foe as the Tucker Tigers (2-1) travel to face McEachern (2-2) and former coach Franklin Stephens who won a pair of state championships at Tucker in 2008 and 2011.
