McNair finished the drill on Friday night with a 24-0 victory over North Clayton on Friday night at Godfrey Stadium to win the program’s first football game since November of 2018.

Senior all-around athlete Malachi Jackson caught nine passes for 166 yards and a pair of touchdowns as the Mustangs (1-2) ended the 25-game losing streak. McNair’s last win was an 18-13 victory over Therrell in the final game of the 2018 season.

Quarterback Jeremy Victor completed 9 of 11 passes for two touchdowns while adding 34 yards rushing and a touchdown. Running back Sedarian Williams ran for 136 yards and a touchdown on 12 carries to round out the scoring.

The defense contributed big to win as well with five interceptions including two each by freshmen Keyontae Phillips (6 tackles, 2 pass breakups) and Shyree Graham. Malik Jackson added 4 tackles including 2 sacks and 3 tackles for a loss.

M.L. King 45, Locust Grove 20
Xavier Leach and Antonio Anderson combined for 295 yards rushing and four touchdowns as the Martin Luther King Jr. Lions’ offense exploded in a 45-20 victory on the road at Locust Grove on Friday night.

Anderson finished the night with 168 yards on 21 carries and a pair of touchdowns while hitting on 7 of 12 passes for 80 yards including a 35-yard scoring toss to Deonte Boston.

Leach ran the football for 127 yards and two touchdowns on 15 carries as the Lions (1-2) put up 429 yards of offense against Locust Grove.

Three Lions had eight tackles on defense including Brandon Robinson (interception), D’Marcus Key (4 tackles for a loss) and Ezikel Yusif (2 tackles for a loss).

Cedar Grove 30, Westlake 20
Cedar Grove’s lightning quick start to the second half propelled the Saints to a 30-20 win over the Westlake Lions at Westlake on Friday night in a match up ranked teams from different classifications.

The Class 3A No. 1 ranked Saints (2-0) led 14-7 at the half on a pair of Elliott Colson touchdown runs before scoring 16 points in the first moments of the second half to take a commanding 30-7 lead.

Cedar Grove’s Charles Harris caused a fumble that ended up being recovered by the Lions in their own end zone for a safety to make it 16-7. The ensuing free kick was fielded by the Saints’ Barry Jackson who returned it 60 yards for a touchdown and Amari Forte connected on his third PAT to make it 23-7 just three minutes into the second half.

Jackson struck again on the Saints next possession hauling in a pass over the middle and racing 50 yards for the score. Forte tacked on the PAT for a 30-7 advantage.

Westlake rallied for a pair of touchdowns and stopped a late Cedar Grove drive at the Lions’ five, but Jakyre Horton intercepted a Westlake pass to seal the win.

Chamblee 37, Dunwoody 21
The Battle of the Golden Spike went the Chamblee Bulldogs for the third consecutive season as the Bulldogs claimed a 37-21 victory over the Dunwoody Wildcats at North DeKalb Stadium on Friday night.

Quarterback Fabian Walker fueled the Bulldogs’ win throwing for over 200 yards for the second consecutive week along with three touchdown tosses. The senior was 14 of 23 for 219 yards with the three touchdowns and added a score on the ground himself.

Tristian Sizemore was the recipient of two of the touchdown passes as he caught 7 of Walker’s throws for 106 yards. Levi Bradham added three receptions for 75 yards and a score.

Larry Harris had 11 carries for 128 yards on the ground and Jack Hawkins added a rushing touchdown.

Dunwoody quarterback Peter Ledoyen had a big night to keep the Wildcats in the battle as he was 23-37 passing for 258 yards and a touchdown through the air and added 13 carries for 63 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Rocco Sinisgalli caught three passes for 45 yards and touchdown and Mason Weeks added 8 receptions for 97 yards.

Luke Cole led the Wildcat defense with eight tackles with a sack and three tackles for a loss, including one for a safety.

Chamblee improved to 2-0 on the season and trails Dunwoody (1-1) in the over series 13-11 between the two rivals.

Stephenson 20, Arabia Mountain 6
Stephenson (1-1) joined eight other DeKalb winners on the weekend with a 20-6 victory over DeKalb rival Arabia Mountain (1-2) at Hallford Stadium on Friday.

The Jaguars came off a bye week following their season opening loss to Dutchtown and jumped out to a 13-0 lead on Arabia Mountain on the way to the 20-6 win. Devin Ingram set up the first score with a 45-yard screen pass. Cheik Keita finished off the drive with a 10-yard touchdown run. Etsomfa Elevaro hit the PAT to make it 7-0.

Stephenson took a 10-0 advantage into the half on an Elevaro 29-yard field goal. The lead went to 13-0 as Elvaro hit a 22-yard field goal in the third quarter.

Arabia Mountain cut the lead to 13-6 on a 46-yard pass play by quarterback Julian Shanks and Jordan Miller. The PAT was no good.

Ingram answered the score by returning the kickoff following the Rams’ score 83 yards for a touchdown to seal the win. Elevaro was good with his second PAT of the night to account for seven of Stephenson’s 20 points.
