Kara Croone struck for five goals to the lead the No. 1 ranked Chamblee Lady Bulldogs to a 10-0 Class 5A girls’ state playoff victory over Woodland of Cartersville on Tuesday night at North DeKalb Stadium.

Croone and Solei Washington both had hat tricks in the first half as Chamblee got out to an 8-0 advantage before the break.

Washington opened the scoring just two minutes and 47 seconds into the game as she dribbled through the defense and sent a laser shot into the net for the early 1-0 lead.

Following a Cassidy Kuehne pass to Ansley Harrison for a 2-0 margin, Washington collected her second goal of the game just two minutes later to make it 3-0.

Croone got into the act less than a minute later on an assist from Kaitlyn Meer to make it 4-0 before adding her second goal less than four minutes later to make it 5-0.

Washington completer her hat trick with 20:31 left in the first half to make it 6-0 and Croone followed in quick fashion less than a minute later to for her hat trick and a 7-0 Chamblee advantage.

Gabby King sent the Lady Bulldogs (17-1-1) into half up 8-0 with her goal at the 8:49 mark. The goal forced a shortened second half of 20 minutes.

Two early second half goals by Croone gave her five on the night and ended the game by the mercy rule.

Woodland’s goalkeeper finished the night with 26 saves while facing 35 shots on the night as the Chamblee offense peppered her for most of the night in her valiant effort.

Chamblee moves on to the Sweet 16 of Class 5A o face the winner of Forest Park and Ware County for the opportunity to move into the Elite 8. The game time and location for Monday will be announced later.
