Four DeKalb middle school boys’ basketball teams picked up their seventh wins on Wednesday.

Tucker (7-0), Redan (7-0), Columbia (7-1) and Henderson (7-1) reached the seven-win mark on Wednesday in DeKalb County middle school basketball action.

A 40-25 victory over the Salem Lions (1-5, 1-3) upped the Redan Raiders’ record to 7-0 overall and 5-0 in Region 3. A balance scoring attack by the Raiders was led by the duo of Tristen Mitchell, 11 points, and Jordan Francis, 10 points. Noah Milton added 8 points and Amare Medhin 7 for the Raiders.

OTHER BOYS’ RECAPS
Tucker 42, Chamblee 40
The Tucker Tigers (7-0, 4-0) pulled out a 42-40 Region 1 thriller over the Chamblee Bulldogs (5-2, 2-2) to stay atop the region standings heading into Saturday, the last game before the holiday break. Jakobi Williams had an impressive 22-point, 7-assists night for Tucker while Donovan Smith added 13 points. Dylan Shannon, Jaydon Avery and Ryan McCord led Chamblee in thriller.

Henderson 50, Champion 38
The Henderson Cougars (7-1) became one of three teams with seven wins on Wednesday by taking down Champion (3-4) 50-38 in a non-region clash. The combo of Zayd Muhammad (20 points, 4 assists) and Bakari Campbell (16 points, 4 assists proved to be too much for the hard playing Chargers. Grady Ellerman added 12 rebounds for the Cougars.

Columbia 35, McNair 28
The Columbia Eagles (7-1, 3-1) got past the McNair Mustangs (1-6, 0-4) in a Region 4 meeting on the hardwood. Bryson Bigsby hit for a game-high 18 points for the Eagles in the win.

Cedar Grove 45, Lithonia 16
Cedar Grove’s Emanuel Green had a huge game for the Saints (5-1, 3-1) in a 45-16 non-region victory over the Lithonia Bulldogs (0-7, 0-3). Green went off for 33 points and pulled down 12 rebounds to lead the Saints to the win. Tayson Blount came off the bench for Cedar Grove to score 6 points and pick up four steals in the win.

Peachtree 43, Sequoyah 20
The Peachtree Patriots (2-5, 1-3) grabbed their first Region 1 win of the season 43-20 over Sequoyah (0-6, 0-5). Emerson Mitchell had 8 points to lead the Patriots and Isaiah Frison added 6 points. Marquis Earl led the Braves with 11 points and 8 rebounds in the game.

Chapel Hill 37, Bethune 31
A 37-31 Region 4 win over the Bethune Lions (3-4, 2-2) pushed the Chapel Hill Panthers over .500 on the season (4-3) and evened their region mark at 2-2. Harlim Perine hit for 15 points to go with 7 assists and 4 rebounds to lead Chapel Hill. Dontavious Strainfield had 10 points to lead Bethune.

Druid Hills 47, Stone Mountain 33
The Druid Hills Dragons (5-2, 3-0) stayed atop the Region 2 standings with a 47-33 victory over the Stone Mountain Pirates (1-7, 0-3). Jhalil Phelps did not make it easy for the Dragons as he hit for 17 points to go with 5 rebounds, 2 blocked shots and 3 steals.

In another boys’ game Miller Grove (4-3, 2-2) knocked off Freedom (3-4, 2-2) to tie the Rams for second in the Region 3 standings behind Redan.

GIRLS RECAPS
Champion (7-0), Chapel Hill (7-0) and Salem (6-0) all remained undefeated in girls’ middle school basketball action on Wednesday night.

Champion used its balanced offensive attack and tough defense to win 43-2 over Henderson (3-5) in a non-region contest. Charmaine Owens had 10 points (3 assists, 3 steals) and Sanaa Stanton added 8 more. Champion got six points from Lauren Chavis (6 rebounds, 4 steals), Chance Alexander (7 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 steals) and Ryann Chaney (5 rebounds).

Chapel Hill 52 Bethune 18
Deasia Kelly hit for 17 points (8 assists, 8 rebounds) to fuel a 52-18 Region 4 win by Chapel Hill (7-0, 4-0) over the Bethune Lions (3-4, 3-1). McKenzie Copeland contributed 14 points (6 steals) and Kendall Campbell chipped in 8 points (4 rebounds,5 steals).

Salem 44, Redan 23
Shanya Heath collected 21 points to spark Salem Lions (6-0, 4-0) to a 44-23 Region 3 win over the Redan Raiders (3-4, 2-3) to stay undefeated. Aubri Brooks hit for 10 points to lead Redan.

Miller Grove 45, Lithonia 17
Bailee Canty and Kaeslyn Benjamin proved too much for the Lithonia Bulldogs (2-5, 0-3) in leading the Miller Grove Wolverines to a 45-17 Region 3 win. Canty hit for 18 points in the win and Benjamin added 11 more.

Chamblee 33, Tucker 14
The Chamblee Bulldogs (5-2, 4-0) ended the Tucker Tigers (3-4, 2-2) win streak with a 33-14 Region 1 win on Wednesday. Alex Pettit led the way for Chamblee with 8 points and Stella Barton was stout on the defensive end. Kassidy Manning scored 9 points to lead Tucker.

Lithonia 14, Cedar Grove 10
Lithonia (2-5) slipped past Cedar Grove (0-6) 14-10 in a non-region clash on Wednesday. L. Cline led the way with 6 points for Lithonia. Therese Njie had 2 points, 4 rebounds and 4 steals to lead Cedar Grove.

Peachtree 29, Sequoyah 2
The Peachtree Patriots (6-1, 3-1) picked up a Region 1 win 29-2 over the Sequoyah Braves (0-6, 0-5) on Wednesday. Cintia Luna and Ca’Nyte Norris played with energy throughout the game and with some good defensive play held Peachtree under 30 points for the game.

Other scores from Wednesday included Druid Hills (2-5, 1-2) 36-20 over Stone Mountain (0-8, 0-3) and Columbia (5-3, 2-2) 26-19 over McNair (1-6, 1-3).
