Quarterback Gracie Puckett and receiver Lily Garrigan teamed up on a pair of first half touchdown passes to lead the Dunwoody Wildcats to a 21-0 Division 2 Area 5 victory over the Lakeside Vikings at Dunwoody on Wednesday night.

After forcing a Lakeside punt on the first possession of the game, the Wildcats (9-3-1, 5-0) needed just five plays to take the lead for good. Dunwoody was facing a third and goal at the Lakeside 18 when Puckett found Garrigan behind the defense for an 18-yard touchdown toss. The one-point try was no good and Dunwoody led 6-0 with 12:52 left in the first half.

The two teams traded punts and with 4:45 to play a bad snap went over the head of the Lakeside quarterback for a safety to give the Wildcats an 8-0 advantage.

Following the safety Puckett hit Garrigan down the left sideline and she raced 47 yards for the pairs’ second touchdown connection of the game. Puckett connected with Analise Remigaillo on the one-point try to make it 15-0 at the half.

Dunwoody opened the second half marching 66 yards for another touchdown. Sophia Moncrief went the final four yards for the score. The point after was no good as Dunwoody held a 21-0 lead with 11:20 remaining.

Madison Wright intercepted a Lakeside pass with 1:55 to play to seal the 21-0 victory for the Wildcats. Lakeside is now 7-4-1 on the season and 4-1 in the area standings.
