A DeKalb County rivalry renews for the seventh time on Friday night as the No. 10 ranked Stephenson Jaguars (3-0) host the Tucker Tigers (0-2) in a 7:30 pm kickoff at Hallford Stadium as one of three all-DeKalb high school football matchups.
New Jaguars’ head coach Marcus Jelks has his alma mater at 3-0 on the season and just moved into the Class 4A Top 10 after defeating Lithonia (17-6), Southwest DeKalb (22-13) and Martin Luther King Jr. (30-0) to open the season.
Tucker is coming off a bye-week following loses to Dacula (32-7) and Cedar Grove (52-10). The two teams did not play in 2020 due to a shortened schedule and the Jaguars hold a two-game win streak over the Tigers that evened the series at 3-3. Stephenson won the last meeting 13-7 in a defensive struggle and won in 2018 30-24.
Stephenson is the third consecutive Top 10 ranked team for the Tigers to face to open the 2021 season.
Stone Mountain vs. Redan
Two undefeated DeKalb football teams clash on Friday at 7:30 pm in the confines of North DeKalb Stadium in Chamblee as Stone Mountain (2-0) hosts Redan (2-0) in a neighborhood rivalry that renews for the 35th time.

Redan is coming off consecutive victories over Druid Hills (40-0) and Lakeside (12-7) led by running back Votarres Thaxton (28 carries, 237 yards and 3 TDs). The Raiders lead the series 20-14 but the Pirates have won the last two meetings in 2019 (30-20) and 2018 (35-20).
Stone Mountain was off last week due to contact with a positive covid case during their 22-21 win over Tri-Cities. Dual threat quarterback Devonte Cemexan triggers the Pirate offense having accounted for 361 yards of offense (180 rushing, 181 passing) and five touchdowns (3 rushing, 2 passing). Saquan Bailey is a go-to target for Cemexan as he has accounted for 136 yards receiving and a pair of touchdowns.
Chamblee vs. Druid Hills
One of the tightest DeKalb football rivalries renews for the 33rd time as the Chamblee Bulldogs (2-1) travel to Adams Stadium to take on the Druid Hills Red Devils (0-3) in a contest set for at 7:30 pm kickoff on Friday.
Chamblee leads the series 17-14-1 overall and won the last meeting in 2017 27-19. The Bulldogs are coming off a tough 33-21 loss to Eagle’s Landing last week. Quarterback Fabian Walker leads DeKalb County passers with 494 yards and seven touchdowns on the season.
The Red Devils led for much of their game against Riverside Military last week before falling behind with just four minutes to play as they fell 32-26.
