The 2019 Columbia Lady Eagles (top) and Chamblee (bottom) took home bracket titles in the 2019 DCSD Spikefest.

Chamblee and Miller Grove are set to host the 2021 version of the annual DeKalb County School District’s Seventh Annual Spikefest as all 19 DeKalb volleyball programs and Decatur lineup to open the season on Saturday (August 14).

Opening matches (4) are set to begin at 8:00 am and final matches set for 5:00 pm as the teams compete in four separate pools of play of five teams each as the event returns after being cancelled in 2020.

Pools Diamond (Court 1) and Palladium (Court 2) are set for Chamblee High School. The Diamond pool includes host Chamblee, Decatur, Stone Mountain, Southwest DeKalb and Druid Hills on Court 1. Court 2 has the Palladium pool featuring Dunwoody, Lakeside, Lithonia, Tucker and Arabia Mountain.

The Platinum and Emerald Pools are set for the Miller Grove High Gym. Redan, Clarkston, Miller Grove, Stephenson and Columbia play on Court 1 vying for the Platinum title. Towers, Cedar Grove, M.L. King Jr., McNair and Cross Keys battle for the Emerald title on Court 2.

This year each match is two sets and can end in a draw. Pool winners are determined by a point system of how many total sets are won by each team. Ties will be broken by head-to-head results or if needed a 15-point match to decide the pool winner.

Chamblee won the Gold Bracket championship in 2019 with an exciting come-from-behind victory over Dunwoody. Columbia won the Silver Bracket Championship in 2019 in another comeback fashion winning two sets to one over Lithonia.
