Southwest DeKalb quarterbacks Sadir Ryan and Sabian Campbell combined for 254 yards passing and three touchdowns in a 41-0 Panthers’ Region 5-5A win over the Stone Mountain Pirates on Halloween Night a Hallford Stadium.

James Carswell got the Panthers (3-1, 3-1) rolling with a 35-yard touchdown run straight up the middle with 10:17 left in the first quarter. Malcolm Smith hit the PAT to make it 7-0.

Campbell threw the first of his two touchdown passes at the 10:20 mark of the second quarter hitting Armond Davis down the middle of the field for a 27-yard strike to the end zone. Smith was good again with the PAT to make it 14-0.

The Panthers next score was set up by a 25-yard pass from Campbell to Cameron Bush. The play led to Campbell using his feet after being flushed from the pocket to make it to the corner of the end zone on a seven-yard run. Smith made it 21-0 with 3:00 left in the half.

Kentavius Key returned a punt 25 yards to set up Campbell’s second touchdown pass of the night. Key would be on the receiving end this time hauling in a pass to complete a 35-yard touchdown scoring play with just nine seconds to play in the first half. The PAT was no good giving the Panthers a 27-0 lead over the Pirates (1-4, 0-4) going into the break.

Ryan picked up his touchdown pass on a fourth and goal at the Stone Mountain 14. He dropped back, lofted a pass to the corner of the end zone where Robert Grady looked over his left shoulder and hauled in the touchdown scoring pass. Smith hit the PAT to make it 34-0 with 4:56 to play in the third quarter.

Josh Taylor capped the scoring with a 40-yard fumble return for a touchdown with 3:47 left in the third period. Smith made his fifth PAT of the night to make the final of 41-0.

Ryan finished the night hitting 12 of 16 passes for 148 yards and a touchdown while Campbell was 5 of 6 for 106 and two touchdowns. James Carswell finished the night with seven carries for 80 yards and a touchdown. Key caught five passes for 111 yards and a score.
