Only six home high school football games are set for play this weekend in DeKalb County as four schools take the week off.

A doubleheader at Hallford Stadium on Friday features two of the Top 10 ranked teams in Class 4A putting their undefeated records on the line.

The No. 1 ranked Marist War Eagles (4-0, 1-0) invade Hallford Stadium for a 5:15 pm Region 6-4A matchup with the Arabia Mountain Rams (2-2, 2-1).

Marist is coming of an open date due to Druid Hills ending its season. The Rams are coming off a dominating 40-28 win over Mays at Lakewood Stadium last Friday night. Quarterback Brandon Adams and receiver Tawann Rome hooked up for four touchdown passes in the Rams win.

Arabia and Marist are meeting for just the third time in history with the War Eagles holding a 2-0 edge. Marist won in 2014 (30-0) and 2015 (41-14).

The second game of the doubleheader has the No. 4 ranked Stephenson Jaguars (3-0, 2-0) hosting the Mays Raiders (3-4, 1-2). Stephenson enters the game off a 19-7 victory over Miller Grove last Friday night. The Jaguars defense has yet to give up a touchdown this season.

Stephenson holds a 4-1 lead in the series with Mays with the last meeting being a No. 5 Stephenson knocking off No. 2 Mays 10-9 in 2015. Mays’ only victory came in 2014 (13-9).

Saturday night’s home game has Southwest DeKalb (2-2, 2-1) hosting Stone Mountain (1-3, 0-3) in Region 5-5A play at Hallford Stadium with kickoff set for 7:30 pm.

This will be the 26th meeting between the two DeKalb County schools with Southwest DeKalb holding a 20-5 lead in the series. The teams last met in 2009 with the Panthers winning their second consecutive game in the series 27-14 following up on their 2008 17-6 victory.

Stone Mountain’s last win came in 2007 as the Pirates knocked off the No. 7 ranked Panthers 6-0.

Tucker vs. Lovejoy Rescheduled
The Tucker (2-1, 1-0) vs. Lovejoy (6-0, 1-0) game postponed last Thursday due to Covid issues has been rescheduled for Monday, November 2 at Adams Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7:00 pm

Tucker is coming off a tough come-from-behind 11-8 Region 4-6A win on the road over North Atlanta two weeks ago. The Tigers were down 8-0 heading into the fourth quarter before rallying to win on a 29-yard Camden Russell field goal with three seconds to play.

Lovejoy is coming off a 47-0 region opening win over Morrow last week while climbing to No. 4 in Class 6A.

Tucker and Lovejoy are meeting for the eighth time since 2011 with Tucker holding a 7-0 mark in the series. The first meeting of the two schools came in the 2011 Class 5 State Championship with the Tigers coming away with the title 22-7. The last six meetings were in region play with the closest game being a 29-26 win by Tucker in 2016.
