The Tucker Lady Tigers broke a nine-game losing streak with a 54-36 victory over the Mundy’s Mill Lady Tigers to start a sweep on Senior Night at Tucker.

Kennedy Collins steal and basket with 4:15 to play in the first quarter gave Tucker a 3-2 lead and the Lady Tigers never trailed again.

Collins had seven points in the first quarter including a three-pointer as Tucker (3-22, 2-14) held an 8-4 advantage heading into the second quarter.

Aaliyah Goodall sandwiched a Deja Humphries basket with two of her own, the first on steal, as Tucker stretched a 12-8 lead to 18-8 with 1:55 left in the first half.

A three-pointer by P. Gordon pulled Mundy’s Mill (7-18, 4-11) within 20-12 at the half.

After the Lady Tigers opened the second half with a quick basket Collins scored six consecutive points to extend the lead to 25-16 with 5:14 left in the quarter. Goodall hit one of two free throws with 4.4 seconds left in the third to send Tucker into the fourth quarter up 30-22.

Mundy’s Mill cut the lead to four three times in the fourth quarter, the last at 38-34 with 3:42 to play on a layup by K. West.

Two free throws by Goodall and a three-pointer by Collins started a 14-2 run by Tucker which was capped off by a steal by Humphries who got the outlet to Nariya Briscoe for a layup with 1:33 to play to make it a 50-34 advantage.

Briscoe and Humphries would add baskets in the final minute of play to give Tucker its final total of 54 in the game.

Collins finished a game-high 21 points and Humphries added 10 points and seven rebounds as the two seniors led their team. Gordon finished with 15 points to lead Mundy’s Mill including three treys in the game.

Seniors Terrance Edwards and Jermontae Hill teamed up for 49 points and 17 rebounds to lead the No. 1 ranked Tucker Tigers to a convincing 82-51 win over Mundy’s Mill in the nightcap at Tucker.

The two both had a pair of three-pointers in the first quarter, including Hill’s game opener, as Tucker (22-3, 16-0) jumped out to a 16-4 lead on a drive by Edwards with 3:17 to play in the period.

A drive and pull-up jumper by Edwards sent Tucker into the second quarter with a 23-12 advantage.

Mundy’s Mill (15-9, 9-6) cut the lead to six (23-29) on a M. Pierre put-back of a miss with 2:49 left in the half. Tucker responded with a Raylan Barrion drive for a layup and Dylan Pritchett’s steal and basket to go up 34-24 at the half.

Hill scored six points in the third quarter including two high-flying dunks including his flush at the 50 second mark that started a quick 6-0 run. Tyler Pendergrass would make two steals in the final 35 seconds of the quarter for his own layup and an assist to Edwards to send Tucker into the fourth quarter up 54-37.

Edwards scored 10 points in the fourth quarter showing off some nice spin moves under the basket for layups as the Tigers went on an 18-8 run in the first 3:27 of the period to extend the lead to 71-45.

Edwards finished with a 29-point, 11-rebound double-double to lead Tucker on the night. Hill finished with 20 points and six rebounds. C. Welcher had 11 points and nine rebounds to lead Mundy’s Mill.
