The final DeKalb County regular season meet was held on Tuesday at the Arabia Mountain High School course with the Clarkston Lady Angoras picking up the victory in the girls’ race.

Clarkston placed six runners in the Top 10 to outrun Southwest DeKalb 16-43 for the victory.

Three Clarkston juniors took the first three places led by Zoi Woods (25:23.20), Malik Colette (25:43.70) and Ingabire Diahe (28:01.40). Sophomore Neera Gurung (30:18.10) took fifth to give Clarkston four of the Top 5 finishers on the day.

Junior Chantal Ishimwe (32:01.50) was eighth and senior Solange Nyampinga (32:10.50) was ninth to round out the Clarkston Top 10 finishers.

Southwest DeKalb senior Calise Starr (30:52.10) was seventh overall to lead the Lady Panthers.

Towers junior Taheera Abdulah (30:02.60) picked up a Top 5 finish coming in fourth overall.

Arabia Mountain had a pair of runners in the Top 10 in junior Samaria Robinson (30:32.10) in sixth and freshman Candace Taylor (32:24.80) in 10th.

The boys’ race was tight one as Tucker edged out Clarkston 32-34 as senior Jarvis Wynn came in 16th overall to clinch the victory.

Tucker’s race to the win included three runners in the Top 5 led by senior Yesahk Ergano (18:47.40) in second overall, freshman Zinabu Marcos (19:10.50) in third and sophomore Abedelemeji Kerebo (19:40.60) in fifth. Sophomore Yordanos Ephram (20:01.30) was seventh to help build the Tucker lead.

Clarkston also put four runners in the Top 10 led by junior Thaddee Barge (18:41.70) who clocked an Arabia Mountain best time for this season.

Junior Firmosa Ibrahim (19:49.10) was fourth, freshman Llyass Abdi Nuur (20:10.90) was eighth and freshman Dejen Abtie (21:05.60) rounded out the Top 10.

Third place Southwest DeKalb (69) had a pair of Top 10 runners in senior Jalen Bristol (20:01.20) in sixth and senior Jackson Taylor (20;21.50) in ninth.

Stone Mountain (103), Arabia Mountain (167), Redan (178), Lithonia (181) and Cedar Grove (212) rounded out the team finishes.
