The race to region titles and the state playoffs is getting shorter and three DeKalb County teams each took a step forward on Friday night.

The Region 4-6A title race has DeKalb’s Tucker Tigers (5-2, 5-0) and Stephenson Jaguars (5-1, 4-0) as the only undefeated teams at the top of the standings.

Tucker rallied from an early 6-0 deficit to Morrow (1-5) for a 22-6 victory at North DeKalb Stadium on Friday night. The Tigers went up 7-6 at the half and led 15-6 after three quarters of play.

The game was put away with a fourth quarter touchdown. Tucker is along at the top of the standings at 5-0 just ahead of the 4-0 Jaguars who rolled to a 41-0 win over the Forest Park Panthers (0-6) at Tara Stadium on Friday night.

Tucker is off this coming weekend, but the Jaguars host a showdown with the Mundy’s Mill Tigers (5-2, 3-2) at 7:30 pm on Friday at Hallford Stadium.

Region 5-3A
The Class 3A No. 2 ranked Cedar Grove Saints (6-1, 3-0) rolled to an 80-0 win over the Towers Titans (0-7, 0-3) on Friday at Godfrey Stadium.

The win sets up a big head-to-head battle with No. 5 ranked Westminster (4-2, 2-0) at Westminster on Friday at 7:30 pm.
