The DeKalb Silver Streaks junior varsity Adapted Sports team opened the 2017 handball season with a pair of victories against the Houston Jr. Sharks.

Najee Smothers and Keith Debrosse from Decatur City Schools combined for five goals in the Silver Streaks’ 5-3 victory in the opener of the double-header at Druid Hills Middle School.

The second also went to the Silver Streaks in a 6-0 shutout over the Jr. Sharks.

Smothers and Debrosse combined for five of the goals for the second consecutive game and David Roberson added another shot for DeKalb.

The shutout was keyed by good defensive play from Jamal St. Rose, Imani Ingram, Robert Edwards and Jamell Boston.

The 2-0 Silver Streaks travel to Midland on Saturday for a 12:00 pm contest against the 1-0 Muscogee Lions at Midland Middle School. The Lions are 1-0 via a forfeit by the Atlanta Wolfpack.
