Ira Henderson’s kickoff return for a touchdown to open the second half sparked a 31-point second half for the Stephenson Jaguars in their 31-18 victory over DeKalb County rivals Southwest DeKalb Panthers.

The Panthers (2-2) led 6-0 at the half behind a Justin Tomlin nine-yard touchdown pass to Michael Pace with 7:12 left in the first half.

Henderson’s return propelled the Jaguars (1-2) to their seventh consecutive victory in the series they now lead 9-5.

Stephenson made it a 14-6 game when Ga’von Wray connected with Deshon Stoudemire on a touchdown pass on the Jaguars’ next possession.

The Panthers made it a 14-12 game heading into the fourth quarter as Tomlin connected with Tommy Wright on a 27-yard touchdown pass. A two-point attempt to tie failed.

The Jaguars answered with 11:06 to play on a 16-yard pass from Darren Parker to Stoudemire to extend the lead to 21-12.

Deondre Jackson got loose on a 21-yard touchdown run with 6:21 to play to push the Jaguars’ lead out to 28-12.

Two minutes later Tomlin threw his third touchdown pass of the game as he connected with Aquill Muhammad on a 17-yard score. The two-point conversion failed again as the Panthers cut the lead to 28-18.

Darien Tisdale was 4-4 on extra points in the game and added a field goal with 1:01 to play to make the final of 31-18.

Lakeside 52, Druid Hills 0
The Lakeside Vikings extended their series lead over Druid Hills to 12-0 with a 52-0 victory on Friday at Adams Stadium.

Matthew Holt had a 30-yard touchdown pass to Demonte Pressley and Otha Evans had TD runs of one and three yards as the Vikings scored on every offensive possession of the game.

Jeffery Powell scored on defense for the Vikings to aid in Lakeside’s first win of the season. Druid Hills fell to 0-3 on the year.

Cedar Grove 33, Columbia 0
The Class 3A No. 3 ranked Cedar Grove Saints scored all 33 points in the first half and cruised to a 33-0 victory over the Columbia Eagles on Friday at Godfrey Stadium.

Xavier Dennis had three touchdown passes and ran for another score to lead the Saints to the win. Jadon Haselwood and Trevon Richardson caught the passes for scores.

Haselwood added a punt return for a touchdown and Darrell Neal rushed for another touchdown.

Cedar Grove (3-0) improved its series lead to 11-6 over the Eagles (2-2)
